Unfading Beauty and Strength

Christian Encouragement and Practical Tips for Ordinary Women

Many of you who know me personally know that I have wanted to start my own blog for awhile.

I love writing and have been missing it for quite a while.  I dabbled fairly consistently in 2014.

Since then I decided to go back to working full-time in the fall of 2017. It was a tough decision, but one my husband and I felt was the right decision for this time in our life.  It has not been easy, it has been a tougher transition than I thought it would be. I worked part-time since my first baby was born in 2013 so to go from that to working full-time and having to get my kids out of bed and ready to go early in the morning has been difficult, to say the least.

I know many mothers who do the same and more every day, but for me and my family, it was quite an adjustment.

It was the right decision for us in many ways.

It helped us financially. It helped us be able to afford a great preschool for my daughter, who I felt was falling behind socially and academically. It gave me a greater understanding of a working full-time mama. I was able to be out of the house more and be with adults. It has also made me realize that I need a career where I can practice my passion.

I do not want to look back in twenty years and be in the same place, personally and financially.

All that to say, I do want to start an online venture. Maybe this first one will fail, but I have learned that failure is not necessarily a negative.

All the most successful people have failed multiple times before being successful. (i.e. Bill Gates, Walt Disney, Steve Jobs, Milton Hershey, Dave Ramsey, and many more I am sure! )

My goal for this business is to provide a source of encouragement and inspiration for women and girls of all ages.

To provide a place they can go to know they are not alone and that we are all in this thing called life together.  I want to help connect women and stop the judgment we all tend to throw at ourselves and others.

I would love your input as to what might be of value to you.

I am brainstorming ways to accomplish my mission. Bear with me as I plan on making this a more usable and friendly site. (If you know how to do that or know someone who does, let me know! Every day I learn something new, but certainly, the technical side of writing is a bit overwhelming for me.)  Add to the fact that I have very limited fringe time to work on things. (Think two kids 5 and under, working full time, running a house and a marriage, enough said. )

Reach out to me and let me know what would be of value to you.

I’ll share some of my ideas below. I may not have my email list set up, but since most of you reading this currently will be people who know me personally, reach out to me in whatever way you know you can reach me. 😉

Here are some of my ideas:

  1. Connecting older women with younger women (a pen-pal/mentoring type program)
  2. Book club (online)
  3. Stories of strong and beautiful women throughout history and Bible times
  4. Focus article on products that make us feel confident
  5. Mediator to help people start groups/friendships with local women
  6. Stories of real women living day to day and what works for them.
  7. Submit your prayer request or find a prayer partner

That’s a start, right? Let me know what you think. Obviously I cannot do all of them at once (baby steps), but please share your input or any ideas you think would be good as well!

Thanks for reading friends!
